A Seasonal Floral Arts Program for TK–5th Grade Students

Ximu Youth Ikebana Studio, part of the growing Ximu family of youth programs, introduces children to the peaceful, creative, and culturally rich practice of Ikebana — the Japanese art of floral arrangement.

Just like Ximu Youth Golf Academy, this program is fully mobile, school-friendly, and designed to spark curiosity, confidence, and hands-on learning.

Our Ikebana classes give students a meaningful break from screens and noise, offering a calm, structured environment where they can express themselves through nature, color, and design.

Seasonal Curriculum — 4 Programs Per Year

Throughout the school year, students participate in four uniquely themed sessions, each inspired by the flowers, plants, and natural elements blooming during that season:

  • Spring - Soft colors, budding branches, and early blossoms
  • Summer - Bright florals, playful shapes, and abundant greenery
  • Fall - Warm tones, preserved materials, and textured arrangements
  • Winter - Minimal design, evergreens, and calm tonal palettes

Each session features hands-on lessons where students create their own arrangements using real florals and sustainable materials.

What Students Learn

Our Ikebana program teaches foundational design and mindfulness skills appropriate for TK–5th grade, including:

  • Basic Ikebana principles (balance, harmony, simplicity, line)
  • Seasonal flower and plant identification
  • Proper handling of floral materials
  • Creativity through structure and storytelling
  • Patience, focus, and mindful self-expression
  • Respect for nature and Japanese cultural traditions

Each child completes take-home arrangements during the session, allowing parents to see their creativity firsthand.

Designed For Schools

Our Ikebana program is built to fit seamlessly into any school setting. We bring all materials, handle setup and cleanup, and teach safely on campus. Whether offered after school or during the day, the program requires minimal space and integrates easily into existing schedules.
